For the first ten (10) projects posted to the English site, they aren’t charging any fees. We’re reviewing their site now and will give our rating shortly.

What is Lincipit?
Lincipit is a crowdfunding platform that allows creators raise the money they need to make their projects successful.

How does Lincipit work?
Every project must have a funding objective(from 10$ on) and a time frame(1-60 days). During that period people will pledge in order to make the project sucessful. We use the all-or-nothing approach. There are 2 outcomes:
The project is successful: if the goal is reached or surpassed, the creator will recieve the money.
The project is not successful: if the goal is not reached, the money will be returned to backers and the creator gets nothing.
Ok! But why all-or-nothing?
We have very good reasons for this:
It’s less risky. Both for the creator and the backers its much better to know that they will get the money back, additionally it makes no sense to recieve less than the money you need to execute a project, it will probably be not as good as initially promised.
The concept gets tested. The people decides if the project is worth doing.
Backers will help. When the deadline approaches backers will help spreading the word in order to get the project done.
Why should people back projects on Lincipit
Be part of something bigger. The project will only be successful if people pledge. Pledging as little as 1 USD is already great. As a matter of fact the majority of pledges are of 20$ or less.
You don’t have to pledge big amounts of money Most of the projects offer rewards starting at 1$.
Rewards are usefull to attract and incentivize people to pledge to your project, the more creative the rewards are, more are the chances that project will be successful. Depending on the amount pledged, the backer will be able to recieve a greater reward.
So this is not about investments!

How it works
How do I back a project?
When you have found a project you are interested in, and want to back, just press the big green button and you will proceed to the next page where you will be able to choose your payment method… it’s that simple!
We have several payment methods depending on your home country, but the most popular method is PayPal
Depending on the pament method you choose you will have to enter different personal information
Money matters!
As soon as you decide to back a project your money will go to our Paypal account, after that there are two outcomes:
If the project is successful we’ll trasnfer the money you pledged to the creators account. You can find more details in the section “How do creators get the money if the project is successful?” below.
If the project is not successful, the money will be given back as credit on Lincipit in order to back another project or returned to the backer’s PayPal account
If you pay with credit card the money will be returned the following month
What is PayPal?
Paypal is the largest and most trusted online payment system in the world.
This ensures that transaction made on Lincipit are safe and secure.
Do I need a Paypal account to pledge on Lincipit
Yes.
What information will the creator recieve if I back his project?
He will get your Lincipit username, your email and how much you pledged in order to give you your reward.
Will other people know how much I backed?
No, only the creator of the project will get that information.
And if I want to make an anonymous pledge?
No problem, you just have to check the I want my pledge to be anonymous option.
Only the creator will know who you are.
Will I get a message when the project reaches the funding goal?
Yes, both if the project is successful or if it’s not, you will get an email.
Does the project creator have to establish when he is going to give the rewards to pledgers??
Yes, when the creator submits his project he will prompted to provide such information.
Submitting a project
How do I submit a project?
The first thing to do is press “create a project” at the top of the Lincipit’s homepage. You will have to enter the information asked, accept the terms and conditions and press the “submit my project” button.
Does every project submitted go live on Lincipit?
NO, it must go through a selection process where we will evaluate if it complies with all the requirements in the terms and conditions, but if it does, it will be online asap
Why do we do that?
Decrease the chances that project doesn’t reach the funding goal;
Get to know the intentions of the creator in order to prevent fraud;
Advise creators on the rewards to offer.
There is no limit on the number of projects that a creator can submit.
What can I expect once I submit my project?
There are 3 possible answers: we accept your project right away; we contact you to ask more questions or suggest some changes; or we reject it because it does not satisfy our requirements.
How much time will I have to wait before I get my project approved?
Usually it takes less than 24 hours.
Money matters
How do creators get their money if the project is successful?
We will transfer the money you raised to your PayPal account within the next 48 hours!
First we have to make sure you have a PayPal account
How much does Lincipit charge for the service?
5%. Only to successful projects.
How much does Paypal charge?
Paypal charges between 4-5% of the total amount raised, but only if the project is successful.
Is there a fee for submitting my project to Lincipit?
No, it’s totally free!
Is there a maximum amount I can ask for my project?
No, there is no limit.
Is there a maximum amount for rewards?
No, the minimum is 2$ , but there is no maximum!.
What about Intellectual Property?
The creator holds 100% of IP.
Once the project is online…
Can I edit it??
Yes, but you cannot change the amount to be raised, the rewards and the time. But you can still email us at: equipo@lincipit.com and we will change those for you!
If my project reached the funding goal but there is still time left, can I retire funds?
No, you cannot. But it’s good to wait untill the time is due because you can achieve more funding.
Can I edit some information once the project has reched the end date?o?
No, you can use the “update” button under your video to let your backers know how you are doing, but no changes to the remaining information.
Can a project be deleted from Lincipit?
If it has been approved and goes live, no.
Can I delete my project?
Yes you can, you will have to send an email to equipo@lincipit.com. We will ask for an explanation as pople that have already pledged will ask for one!
Projects that do not reach the funding goal will have a second chance!
We use the all-or-nothing system to ensure that only projects that people like will get funded, however we believe in second chances!
In order to be able to re-post you project you will have to meet some minimum requirements:
1) Your project reached at least 25% of the funding goal the first time you posted it on our platform.
2) You will have to reformulate your project, meaning that you will have to give an enhanced description and rewards.
3) You will have to do a new video.
4) You will have to send an email to the people that backed your first project explaining why you are reposting the project, and what changes you have made to it.
If you are ok with these conditions we will be happy to give your project a second chance!

Who creates rewards?
The creator of the project creates the rewards and defines how much these are worth.
What can be offered as reward?
Almost everything, but no money or equity: products, sevices and experiences. Hopefully creative and that nobody has offered before.
How do I get to know the caracteristics(size, color, etc.) of the rewards I am going to offer?
On the “backers” section of your project you wil be able to see the emails of your backers. Send them an email and ask them 
Who’s responsible for delivering the rewards?
The creator of the project, and only him. Lincipit is just an intermediary, such as ebay for example: Ebay.

¿Qué es lincipit?
Lincipit es una plataforma de financiamiento social que permite a personas con ideas creativas exponer sus creaciones y conseguir el financiamiento inicial para llevar a cabo sus proyectos.
¿Cómo funciona exactamente LINCIPIT?
En Lincipit todos los creadores que requieran de financiamiento (para poder ejecutar sus proyectos) pueden comenzar sus campañas de financiamiento a través de lincipit.com. Todos los proyectos deben tener un objetivo económico (desde USD$ 100,00) y un plazo (entre 15 y 90 días) para realizarlo. Durante el tiempo de vigencia de la campaña de financiamiento, el propietario del proyecto se dedicará a difundir en las redes sociales su proyecto, para así aumentar las posibilidades de reunir el financiamiento requerido.
Cuando termine el plazo, debido a la modalidad “todo o nada” existen dos resultados posibles:
Proyecto exitoso Si el objetivo económico es alcanzado o superado, el propietario del proyecto se quedara con todo el dinero recaudado.
Proyecto NO exitoso: Si el objetivo económico NO es alcanzado, se devolverá todo el dinero aportado por los colaboradores, así funciona el “todo o nada”.
¿Por qué “todo o nada”?
Es menos arriesgado, tanto para quien creó el proyecto, como para quien se arriesga a financiarlo. Si no se logra la meta propuesta, quiere decir que no hay suficientes personas interesadas en el proyecto y por lo mismo, el resultado será negativo y las recompensas ofrecidas no podrán cumplirse. Por otra parte, si no se alcanza el mínimo, difícilmente el proyecto será ejecutado de buena forma.
Es una oportunidad para testear los conceptos/producto. Si una idea no consigue el apoyo necesario, se puede deber a que el proyecto no es lo suficientemente atractivo y que no hay mercado, para el producto en oferta.
Otorga una motivación adicional que se transforma en una mayor difusión del proyecto. La necesidad de cumplir la meta derivará en una campaña de viralidad a través de las redes sociales, en la que todo aquel interesado en el proyecto y que desee que se realice (incluso si no colabora con éste) podrá participar.
¿Y por qué las personas apoyan los proyectos?
Principalmente porque cada aporte obtiene una Recompensa. Las recompensas son ofrecidas por los creadores de los proyectos, y variarán dependiendo del monto.
Además, hay muchas personas interesadas en invertir dinero y aportar en la formación de algo importante. Sentirse parte de un proyecto, ayudar a la realización de una idea de negocio o apoyar a un artista de gran proyección, es una motivación para quienes creen en el emprendimiento, creatividad e innovación.
Para ayudar no se necesitan grandes cantidades de dinero. La mayoría de los proyectos ofrecen recompensas que parten desde los 4.898 CLP por lo que por más pequeño que sea el aporte, sigue siendo importante.
¿Entonces no se trata de invertir en negocios?
En realidad no, el creador del proyecto siempre obtendrá el 100% de los derechos y utilidades sobre su idea. El aporte, recibe inmediatamente una recompensa.
¿Cómo sé si mi proyecto es compatible con LINCIPIT?
Recibimos todo tipo de proyectos creativos y nuevos emprendimientos en todas las áreas que existen. Si crees que tu idea es buena y viable no dudes en enviarnos tu propuesta.
¿Por dónde comienzo?
¿Cómo hago para apoyar un proyecto?
Cuando estás en la página de un proyecto, haz clic en el botón verde “Apoyar este proyecto” (fijado en la parte derecha de la pantalla). Después de eso, aparecerá un campo para introducir el valor (dinero) con el que apoyarás al proyecto y seleccionar tu recompensa. En la siguiente pantalla, tienes dos opciones donde puedes elegir entre medios de pago locales o tarjetas de crédito internacionales.
¿Cómo funciona el proceso de “aporte”?
Al apoyar un proyecto, el dinero se destinará a una cuenta de LINCIPIT. Posterior a la realización de su aporte, existen dos posibilidades:
Si el proyecto resulta exitoso, re-destinaremos las colaboraciones hacia la cuenta del creador del proyecto.
Si un proyecto no resulta exitoso tu dinero se convertirá en créditos Lincipit y podrás aportar estos créditos a otros proyectos. Si no te interesa apoyar otro proyecto y prefieres tener tu dinero de vuelta, debes dirigirte a “Mis créditos” y, a continuación, hacer clic en “solicitud de reembolso”.
¿Y por qué utilizan Paypal y DineroMail?
Ambos servicios son 100% seguros.
Paypal es el mayor referente en pagos electrónicos del mundo, lo que posibilita a personas de todo el planeta colaborar con los proyectos.
Dineromail te permite aportar con los medios de pago que ya conoces y utilizas habitualmente (tarjetas de débito e incluso pagando offline).
Entonces, ¿es necesario que tenga una cuenta Paypal o Dineromail?
En un principio no. Sin embargo si no tienes una cuenta PayPal o DineroMail no podrás recibir el reembolso de tu dinero en caso de que el proyecto que apoyes no resulte exitoso, crearse una cuenta es absolutamente gratuito y muy fácil.
¿Qué información podrá recibir el creador del proyecto si alguien colabora con este?
El “creador” podrá conocer el nombre de usuario en LINCIPIT (a menos que el colaborador desee hacerlo de forma anónima), email, el valor de su apoyo y la recompensa seleccionada.
¿El monto con el que colabore será mostrado públicamente?
No. Solo el creador del proyecto recibirá esa información y este no tiene permitido hacerla pública.
¿Puedo hacer una cooperación anónima?
Sólo debes marcar la opción “Quiero que mi apoyo sea anónimo” en el proceso de pago. Sin embargo, hacer tu apoyo público mejora tu reputación entre los usuarios lincipit.
¿Recibiré algún mensaje informándome sobre los resultados del proyecto al que apoyé?
Tanto si el proyecto ha resultado exitoso, como si no, recibirás un correo electrónico con la información pertinente.
¿Cuál es el plazo de tiempo para entregar las recompensas?
Los creadores de proyectos deben establecer el plazo en que cumplirán con su compromiso para cada recompensa, el que será informado a quienes escojan dicha recompensa.
Enviando tu proyecto
¿Qué debo hacer para enviar mi proyecto?
Primero, ingresa al enlace “Enviar Proyecto”. Inmediatamente se desplegaran las Guidelines con algunas recomendaciones para que puedas realizar tu postulación de manera correcta. Posteriormente, debes aceptar las condiciones y rellenar los campos indicados, luego presionar el botón “Enviar Proyecto”. Si este proceso es realizado de forma correcta, se desplegará un mensaje informando que “Su proyecto ha sido enviado de forma exitosa, Gracias”.
¿Todos los proyectos enviados serán publicados en el sitio?
No todos los proyectos recibidos serán publicados. Contamos con un equipo responsable y con alto conocimiento en evaluación de proyectos. No juzgaremos la calidad artística ni las cualidades propias del creador, lo que nosotros hacemos es evaluar la idea y determinar si podrá obtener buenos resultados de colaboración.
Motivos:
- Disminuir las posibilidades de que los proyectos no sean ejecutados una vez que sean financiados;
- Conocer el grado de compromiso y si el creador del proyecto tiene previsto participar activamente en la comunidad para recaudar fondos y si entiende este proceso como uno de los procesos más importantes de su campaña;
Verificar si las recompensas generan valor para los colaboradores.
¿Qué sucede después de que envío mi proyecto?
Hay tres posibles escenarios: 1) Tu proyecto queda autorizado y queda en nuestra base de datos a espera de ser publicado; 2) Enviaremos nuevas preguntas para entender un poco más sobre el proyecto; 3) No aceptaremos el proyecto si este no cumple con las directrices.
¿Por cuánto tiempo tengo que esperar una respuesta de Lincipit?
Intentaremos responder lo más rápido posible, aseguramos que será antes de 4 días hábiles.
Cosas de dinero
¿Como los creadores de los proyectos recibirán el dinero (en caso de que el proyecto resulte exitoso)?
Una vez finalizado el plazo del proyecto deberán esperar 48 horas, para que el dinero sea transferido desde la cuenta de LINCIPIT, hacia la cuenta del creador.
Te recordamos que del monto total, serán descontados los valores referentes a las tasas/descuentos de LINCIPIT y los medios de pago web.
¿Cuál es la tasa que LINCIPIT cobra?
LINCIPIT recibe el 5% del monto total recaudado. Recuerda que este porcentaje será descontado sólo de los proyectos que resulten exitosos.
¿Cuál es la tasa descontada por los medios de pago web?
La tasa que será descontada variará dependiendo del país desde donde sea originaria la tarjeta de crédito, estos variarán en un rango de 4% a 6% del aporte.
¿Tiene algún costo publicar un proyecto en LINCIPIT?
Publicar es absolutamente gratis. Sólo en caso de que tu proyecto sea exitoso, LINCIPIT obtendrá un porcentaje del monto total recaudado.
¿Cuál es el monto de dinero que un proyecto puede recaudar?
No hay un límite máximo.
¿Las recompensas tienen un valor mínimo?
Tienen un valor mínimo de 4.898 CLP, pero no tienen un valor máximo.
¿Qué pasa con la propiedad intelectual de mi proyecto?
Siempre será en un 100% propiedad del creador del proyecto.
Avanzando con el proyecto…
¿El proyecto puede ser editado después de que ha sido lanzado?
Si. Lo único que NO PUEDE SER EDITADO es: el objetivo económico, el plazo final y las recompensas que ya fueron seleccionadas por algún colaborador. Lo que debes hacer es enviarnos un correo a equipo@lincipit.com con los cambios que quieres realizar.
Si mi proyecto logra reunir el dinero antes que se cumpla el plazo… ¿puede ser retirado?
No, debes esperar hasta que se cumpla el plazo estipulado. Te recordamos que el dinero recaudado más allá de la meta también es para ti, por lo que puedes aprovechar esta oportunidad para motivar a la comunidad a que realicen apoyos extras.
¿Puedo cancelar mi proyecto?
Sí. Para esto debe enviar un email a equipo@lincipit.com. Esperamos también que nos puedas dar una explicación (que tenga sentido) sobre los motivos que te llevaron a tomar esta determinación, para que sea enviada a todos quienes contribuyeron con el proyecto. En este caso, el proyecto aparecerá con una franja de “proyecto no financiado”
¿Los proyectos cerrados tendrán una segunda oportunidad?
Por supuesto, si un proyecto no fue financiado en una primera oportunidad el creador tiene la posibilidad de re- postular su proyecto a Lincipit para intentar nuevamente ser financiado, de forma interna se le explicarán las mejoras que debe realizar y las condiciones que debe cumplir para esto.

¿Quién establece las recompensas?
Todo es responsabilidad del creador. Las recompensas y el valor económico de cada una.
¿Qué puedo ofrecer como recompensa?
Prácticamente todo, menos dinero: productos, servicios y experiencias. Lo ideal es que sean creativas e innovadoras.
¿Cómo puedo obtener la información (email, tamaño de camiseta, dirección, etc.) de los colaboradores de mi proyecto para poder distribuir las recompensas?
En el perfil de los colaboradores del proyecto podrás ver sus emails e información de contacto. Deberás contactarte con ellos para obtener otro tipo de información.
¿Quién es el responsable de la entrega de las recompensas?
El dueño del proyecto. LINCIPIT solo facilita la plataforma.

It’s about time! We ride our bikes at least 100 miles a week. So, when we saw this campaign we were thrilled at getting rid of flat tires and we’ve had to endure multiple over the years (almost one every three months with top of the line tires).
Here’s how the company describes the invention:
“I was born to put a million more people on bicycles.
Being a life-long member of the bicycle community and business, I know how bicycles can change the planet. I also know the frustrations inherent in modern bicycle design.

Smarter Stand for iPad – Featured on Kickstarter has to be the easiest $100K in the history of products and everybody’s thinking why didn’t I come up with that? And, that’s why kickstarter is so exciting because anyone could have eventually come up with this and now anyone can put up their campaign on www.kickstarter.com and make $100,000 or more to get the product to market – even when they’re only asking for $10,000.
As you look at the product you’re thinking well why don’t I just use clips to hold this in place and the developer politely suggests you do, if you want to risk damaging your $500 iPad.
How It Works
Smarter Stand is composed of 2 clips that attach to either side of the Smart Cover or the Smart Case. For the Smart Cover, a polyurethane pad that sticks to the back side of the iPad is also provided to prevent the iPad from slipping. 1) You’ll have to take your clunky binder clips on and off the cover and store them somewhere when you’re not using them whereas Smarter Stand can stay on your Smart Cover all the time and slide into the position you need when you need it.
2) Binder clips will eventually damage your $39 Smart Cover and might also scratch your $500+ iPad’s screen.
3) You’ll need to stick some kind of non-slip pad to the back of your iPad to stabilize it. Just make sure you never need to remove this home-made pad since it will definitely leave marks unlike the one provided with Smarter Stand.

There’s a zillion iPad stands out there. Why this one?
True. There are a lot of iPad stands out there. I know because I own about half of them And believe me… none of them were as affordable as the Smarter Stand. And no, that’s not why I need your backing (more on that below).

I actually had a room in my basement where I would go and build things. I was always taking things apart and building stuff from before I can I remember. It is just something that I have always done.

This is what we see in most people that end up doing what they love. They start doing it at an early age and it just becomes a part of who they are.

How fast can you scale your production to meet the market demand?
Answer
In order to make sure that our debut on Kickstarter goes smoothly we had already teamed up with a large producer of similar products to POP. They have the scale to produce millions on units if necessary. Let’s hope that is necessary:)

Well we still have 42 days left of making sure we have the most successful Kickstarter campaign possible. Once that is over our attention will go 100% to making sure that we get everyone their POP delivered on time and at the quality level that they expect. Once that is all done we will probably look for a few key retail partners to work with to sell the product.

We have thought about doing a solar top for POP and have some really cool ideas around that. Right now though we need to sell more units or else we will not have the scale needed to make accessories for POP at an appropriate price.

Will the production be in the US?

We would love to make the product in the US. If the Kickstarter campaign goes above $200k we might be able to afford to make it in the US. There is nothing that would make me happier.

We came back to the Techmoola site and had some pretty pointed questions to ask the owner about some of the observations that our viewers identified. Here’s what they saw and what we asked from Matt and from the Co-Founder of Techmoola.com
Observations
Our viewers noted that our screen shot of the techmoola homepage indicated that the Airmote only had 41 days left when we originally captured the image and had $20,660.00 pledged to the company. However, when our reader went back, they identified that the Airmote campaign still only had $20,660.00 in pledges but now had 69 days left. We were puzzled. So, we asked Matt the following questions:

1. Are you able to contine to change the time availabe for the campaign?
2. Are the original pledges still valid if you now change the days?
3. Just out of curiosity where are you guys located?
Questions for the Co-founder Solomon
1. Can you explain how the days went from 41 earlier to the current 69 days?
2. Do you feel that changing the days misleads the donors or purchasers into believing that they have less time than they actually do?
3. Also, can you let us know if you verify that these companies are legitimate companies?

How long did it take to develop the product and how many people did you have working on this?
Answer
“The product has been developing for about 3 years now. We have old versions of the airmote that are boxy and limited functionality. The current version has been refined multiple times. There is about 3-4 people responsible for delivery of this product in the US market – this doesn’t include the international manufacturing partner effort.”
Our After Thought
Given that in large public companies we usually don’t see products come into the market place for 10 years, 3 years is pretty amazing.” Did you sleep during this time and what brand of coffee are you drinking? We’d like to start trying that too.

We envision this as the entry product for a hardware side of EvolutionSense. In fact we are working in emerging markets for computational resource delivery in a unique way – the air products and future roadmaps complement the delivery of these resources.

CDVD Reciclar featured on idea.me is a great environmental campaign to recycle CDs and DVD out of Mexico. We took a look around the globe and found this phenomenal company looking for funding to fund the creation of CDs and DVD recycling containers that they can distribute throughout the city in Mexico.
